Samsung Electronics set for best quarter in over 2 years on second quarter smartphone boost Tech giant   Samsung Electronics   Co Ltd <005930.KS> is poised to issue guidance for its best quarterly profit in more than two years, propelled by a surge in mobile earnings on the back of robust sales of its flagship   Galaxy S7   smartphones. The South Korean giant will disclose its estimates for second-quarter earnings on Thursday, with analysts predicting a strong mobile division contributed to a 13% jump in operating profit from the same period a year earlier. The average forecast from a Thomson Reuters survey of 16 analysts tips Samsung to report April-June operating profit of 7.8 trillion won ($6.8 billion), the highest since an 8.5 trillion won profit in January-March of 2014. LG K10: Camera saves the day

If you are in love with selfies, then LG's K10 should save you from all the hassles for a picture perfect one. The company's first ever "Made in India" smartphone, available for Rs 13,750, is an interesting launch by the South Korean giant.   LG K10   is vying to gain a foothold in a heavily competitive market dominated by the likes of Lenovo, Samsung, Motorola and Xiaomi. However, the latest launch does not look very attractive as the specifications it offers are not on a par with the hole it burns in your pocket. The dual-sim phone comes with built-in memory of 16 GB (with an option to expand it to 32 GB) coupled with a not so effective 2GB of RAM. The K10's competitors, namely the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le 1s, Lenovo Vibe K4 Note, and the Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition are going to make it difficult for LG to capture a pie of the fiercely contested market share. The past few years have seen a frenzy of phone launches. Some have gone on to taste success while others have petered out after the initial flash. Yet, next year does hold some excitement, with various innovations planned. Business Standard looks at the most-anticipated launches and their rumoured details: Apple iPhone 7/ iPhone 7 Plus/iPhone 6C -When it comes to Apple, there’s no end to speculation.
