Fiat launches Jeep Wrangler, Cherokee models in India Italian car maker Fiat on Tuesday announced the India launch of two sports utility vehicles under the Chrysler-owned Jeep brand. Prices of the   Jeep Wrangler   start at Rs 71.59 lakh while that of Jeep Grand Cherokee start at Rs 93.64 lakh (prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). Both SUVs will come in as completely built units form. A third premium SUV will be made in India next year at Fiat's Ranjangaon plant, near Pune where it makes the Grande Punto, Linea and Avventura. The legendary Jeep Wrangler comes to Indian customers with four-door, single trim version called Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The Jeep Grand Cherokee line-up will include the aggressive, fast and athletic Grand Cherokee SRT, the luxurious Grand Cherokee Summit and the classy and refined Grand Cherokee Limited. Pune businessman who became famous for 'gold shirt' murdered A 48-year-old businessman from Pune, who shot into the limelight after buying a 'gold shirt' worth over Rs one crore some years back, was allegedly bludgeoned to death in front of his son, police said today. Datta Phuge, the businessman from the industrial township of   Pimpri-Chinchwad   in the district, had become the talk of the town after he presented himself a 'gold shirt' weighing about 3.5 kg and worth Rs 1.27 crore in 2012. At least 12 persons attacked Phuge at an open ground in Dighi area here at around 11.30 PM last night with stones and a sharp weapon, killing him on the spot. "As per preliminary information, Phuge and his son were invited by one of the suspects, who know each other, to celebrate a birthday. IoT to overtake mobiles by 2018: Report The Internet of Things (IoT) is set to overtake mobile phones as the largest category of connected device by 2018, according to the latest edition of the Ericsson Mobility Report. Between 2015 and 2021, the number of   IoT   connected devices is expected to grow 23 per cent annually, of which cellular IoT is forecast to have the highest growth rate. Of the 28 billion total devices that will be connected by 2021, nearly 16 bn will be IoT devices. Western Europe will lead the way in adding IoT connections. The number of IoT devices in this market is projected to grow 400 per cent by 2021. This will principally be driven by regulatory requirements. The report said mobile data traffic in India would grow 15 times by 2021. Infosys employee allegedly raped on Pune campus; two arrested

A woman employee of Infosys was allegedly raped on the IT giant’s Pune campus on December 27, media reports said Tuesday. The woman was allegedly raped by a housekeeping staff member in  Infosys ’ Phase-I campus in Pune The incident apparently took place during the night shift. Two men have been arrested in connection with the case; media reports said they were possibly workers at the company canteen.  “With regard to the alleged incident at our Pune campus involving our partners’ contractual staff, we are investigating the matter and are working closely with the police to aid their investigation. We have stringent security measures in place on all our campuses and have a zero tolerance policy against sexual harassment, which extends to our contractual staff as well. The company will take necessary action as per policy,” Infosys said in a statement. 

IPL draft: Dhoni goes to Pune, Raina heads to Rajkot

India’s limited-overs captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni today emerged as the top draw in the  IPL 2016 Auction   draft with the Sanjeev Goenka-owned new franchise Pune opting to pick him first for the stipulated price of Rs 12.5 crore here. Dhoni’s India teammate Suresh Raina was the first preference for the other new team Rajkot, which is owned by Intex Mobiles. He will also get an identical Rs 12.5 crore by virtue of being the first player selected by the franchise. “Excited to play for the beautiful vibrant city- Rajkot in @IPL. Looking forward to have new teammates and support from the people of Gujarat,” Raina tweeted after the draft.  In-form Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane was the second choice for Pune, while Rajkot opted for Ravindra Jadeja in the same position .
