The Bollywood actor arrived in Rajasthan's Jodhpur on Sunday afternoon to appear before the court. Khan had on April 5 been convicted in the 19-year-old case and sentenced to five years in jail for killing two blackbucks in Jodhpur during the shooting of the 1998 movie Hum Saath Saath Hain. Subsequently, Salman was granted bail after spending two nights in the Jodhpur Central jail. Salman's Hum Saath Saath Hain co-stars Tabu, Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan and Neelam and Jodhpur resident Dushyant Singh, another accused in the case, were all acquitted due to lack of evidence. Jodhpur court has convicted  Salman Khan  in a 20-year-old blackbuck poaching case and acquitted actors Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam on Thursday. He has been sentenced to two years in jail. While arguing on the quantum of punishment, the prosecution called Salman Khan a habitual offender. Salman's lawyer strongly opposed the statement, saying that Salman has been acquitted from higher courts. Salman is involved in social service, the actor's lawyer also told the court. Elaborate security arrangements were made in and outside the court premises ahead of the verdict. Chief Judicial Magistrate Dalpat Singh gave these directions after completion of the examination of all the witnesses in the court. Salman is facing trial in a case of poaching of an endangered black buck in Kankani village here and possession of illegal arms. The co-accused in this case are actors Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam, who had accompanied the Bollywood star in the shooting of the film   Hum Saath Saath Hain   on October 1, 1998. Mandhana Industries too locked in upper circuit of 20% at Rs 41.55 on the BSE Shares of   Mandhana Industries   rallied as much as 18 per cent to hit an intraday high of Rs 36.30 after its retail arm Mandhana Retail Ventures, which has rights to sell Salman Khan's Being Human Foundation products, got listed on the stock exchanges earlier in the day. Including today's gains Mandhana Industries has surged 42 per cent in last two trading sessions. In August, the company entered into an agreement with actor Salman Khan's Being Human Foundation to sell products under the trademark of 'Being Human' brand. "Shares of The Mandhana Retail Ventures Ltd are listed and admitted to dealings on the exchange in the list of 'T' Group Securities," Bombay Stock Exchange said in a statement. SC admits plea challenging Salman Khan's acquittal in hit and run case Bollywood   superstar   Salman Khan   wanted the Supreme Court to hear the 2002 hit-and-run case against him on merit, his lawyer said on Tuesday. "The honourable Supreme Court had on the last date asked us whether Salman would consent to the Supreme Court hearing the case on merits. On Tuesday, we informed the honourable Supreme Court that we had taken instructions from our client Salman Khan and the matter should be heard on merits."
