Samsung to recall Galaxy Note 7 phones after explosion claims: Report Samsung will issue a global recall of the   Galaxy Note 7   smartphone as soon as this weekend after its investigation on explosion claims found batteries were at fault, according to South Korea's   Yonhap News . Samsung Electronics declined to comment on the report today, but said it was conducting the inspection with its partners, it said. "We will share the findings as soon as possible. Samsungis fully committed to providing the highest quality products to our consumers," the company said in a statement. Shipments of the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone were delayed in South Korea this week for extra quality control testing. VW emissions scandal: South Korea issues arrest warrant against company executive A South Korean court on Friday issued the first warrant for the arrest of a   Volkswagen   AG executive in connection with its cheating of vehicle emissions tests, in another blow to the German automaker's efforts to move on from the scandal. The warrant is the first to be levelled against a Volkswagen executive anywhere in the world after the firm in September admitted to using software to falsify pollution tests on some diesel cars, spurring legal action in the United States, Germany,   South Korea   and elsewhere. "This is just the beginning of the investigation," an official at the prosecution office said, declining to be named because the investigation was ongoing. NSG to take up Pakistan, India's membership requests this week The Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) 2016 annual plenary, which begins in   Seoul   on Monday, will take up membership requests from both   India   and   Pakistan   on June 23-24. According to   Dawn , Pakistan submitted its membership application on May 19, a week after India, which applied on May 12. With massive global support, India stands as a favourite to join the 48-nation group, with an active support from the United States, Russia, Britain, France and other world powers. China, however, stands as an obstacle to India's application, arguing that it would enhance a nuclear competition in South   Asia   by isolating Pakistan. China   wants   NSG   to admit Pakistan as well, pointing out that both India and Pakistan possessed nuclear weapons and had not signed the NPT.
