Fiat launches Jeep Wrangler, Cherokee models in India Italian car maker Fiat on Tuesday announced the India launch of two sports utility vehicles under the Chrysler-owned Jeep brand. Prices of the   Jeep Wrangler   start at Rs 71.59 lakh while that of Jeep Grand Cherokee start at Rs 93.64 lakh (prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). Both SUVs will come in as completely built units form. A third premium SUV will be made in India next year at Fiat's Ranjangaon plant, near Pune where it makes the Grande Punto, Linea and Avventura. The legendary Jeep Wrangler comes to Indian customers with four-door, single trim version called Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The Jeep Grand Cherokee line-up will include the aggressive, fast and athletic Grand Cherokee SRT, the luxurious Grand Cherokee Summit and the classy and refined Grand Cherokee Limited. The discounted tickets can be booked Tuesday through Thursday and are valid for one-way domestic travel from June 15 to September 30  SpiceJet airlines on Tuesday announced it is offering one-way fares starting at Rs 511 (excluding taxes) over a two-day sale offer to celebrate its 11th anniversary. Fares on foreign routes (excluding taxes) begin at Rs 2,111. The discounted tickets can be booked Tuesday through Thursday and are valid for travel from June 15 to September 30 (domestic bookings) and June 1 to July 20 (international bookings).   SpiceJet   said limited number of discounted tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The June-September quarter is traditionally a lean season for travel as schools and colleges reopen after summer break. Discounts help push sales and increase load factors. In the bidding for solar projects totalling 420 MW in Rajasthan under the National Solar Mission, the winning bid touched a new low of Rs 4.34 per unit, entered by Finnish solar power company Fortum Energy for a 70 Mw project. However, lowering of benchmark tariff by the central government did not go too well in Maharashtra which saw subdued interest from the companies participating in bidding for 500 MW in the state Rajasthan saw a spurt of foreign companies lining up for solar projects. American company Rising Sun Energy quoted Rs 4.35 per unit for two projects with total capacity of 140 MW. African major SolaireDirect has quoted same tariff for same capacity projects. Among the domestic ones, India Bulls through its subsidiary Yarrow Infra won 70 MW by quoting Rs 4.36 per unit.  Read Articles
