Asthana placing selective facts, misleading court: CBI Addl SP to Delhi HC

Gurm, who was transferred along with other CBI officials has sought to be made a party in the petition filed by Asthana   CBI Additional SP S S Gurm alleged in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday that Special Director  Rakesh Asthana  , who has filed a petition seeking the quashing of an FIR against him in a bribery case, was misleading the court by placing "selective" facts before it. Gurm, who was transferred along with other CBI officials in the feud between CBI Director  Alok Verma  and Asthana, has sought to be made a party in the petition filed by Asthana. The officer, who was transferred from Delhi to Jabalpur, has sought an opportunity to be heard in the case. In an application before the high court, the additional SP claimed he has "reasonable" apprehension that CBI is seeking to protect and support Asthana and may not effectively contest the petition. Citing sources, The Times of India reported that the CBI corroborated the survivor’s charge that Sengar raped her at his home on June 4 last year while his female accomplice, Shashi Singh, stood guard outside the room. The central agency is also reported to have found the local police at fault. The Namapally Court's judgment came in the case regarding the 2007 Mecca Masjid blast, which claimed nine lives. The fourth additional metropolitan sessions-cum-special court for NIA cases had concluded the trial and last week posted the case for judgment on April 16. Karti had been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at the Chennai airport on Wednesday morning and taken into custody by a team of CBI officers on his return from the United Kingdom. He was produced before a Delhi court, which sent him to CBI custody for one day. Karti Chidambaram's remand will last until 12.30 pm on Thursday when a regular CBI court will hear the probe agency. CBI names 5 IDBI Bank executives in Rs 950 cr loan misuse case by Mallya

Five serving and former executives of the IDBI Bank, mentioned in a probe report by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will be questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over a Rs 950-crore loan sanctioned to Kingfisher Airlines in 2009. Yogesh Agarwal, the then chairman and managing director of IDBI Bank, and four other executives who were members of the credit committee, B K Batra, O V Bundellu, R Bansal and S K V Srinivasan, have been named by the CBI. Bank of Baroda scam: RBI tells banks to conduct internal audit

All public sector and private banks have been asked by the Reserve Bank of India to conduct a “thorough internal audit” and put the report before their respective audit committees, as part of the central bank’s efforts to check fraudulent foreign exchange transactions. The move comes in the wake of irregularities that came to light last year in Rs 6,100-crore import remittances effected by Bank of Baroda’s Ashok Vihar branch in New Delhi. A circular has been issued to all scheduled commercial banks, advising them to conduct a thorough internal audit and place the report before audit committee of the board of the respective banks and to forward the summary of findings to RBI, the central bank said in reply to an RTI query filed by PTI. The RBI was asked to provide details of action being taken by it to check fraudulent forex transactions by banks. “We are in the process of receiving the internal audit report from various banks,”it said.  Read Full Article Over Here :  B...

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's office raided by CBI

The Central Bureau of Investigation has raided Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s office. The office has been sealed. No specific reason has been given yet.   Media reports suggest that the raid is connected to a case of criminal misconduct against Delhi CM’s principal secretary Rajender Kumar. Aam Aadmi party have said that the Chief Minister’s office was kept in the dark about the sudden raid. Arvind Kejriwal  has tweeted confirming the development.
