IPL 2018: RCB beat Kings XI by 10 wickets, Punjab slip to 5th position

Chasing 89 runs, Royal Challengers Banglore beat Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets with 71 balls to spare. KXIP slipped to 5th position. IPL 2018  : In the 48th match of the VIVO Indian Premier League 2018 (IPL) Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. Deviating from the usual, RCB’s success was marked by a bowling attack that derailed Punjab’s inning. After decimating Punjab’s inning to just 89 runs, RCB had captain Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel wreaking havoc on opposition bowlers. With this defeat, KXIP slipped to 5th position on the VIVO IPL points table. Earlier,  Royal Challengers Bangalore  won the toss and opted to bowl against Kings XI Punjab. Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their first match in the VIVO IPL 2018 to Kings XI Punjab by 15 runs. With the win over SRH, KXIP consolidated their position in the top three of Vivo IPL points table Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their first match to Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) by 15 runs in pursuit of 194. KXIP kept it tight and did not let SRH batsmen score runs. Earlier, Gayle scored the first ton of the IPL 2018. With the win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab consolidated their position in the top three of VIVO IPL Points table. Kicked out of Maharashtra: How the Bombay High Court order will affect IPL 2016

The ninth iteration of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has run into the mother of all roadblocks — in the form of the   Bombay High Court 's Wednesday order that all IPL matches scheduled in Maharashtra after April 30 be shifted elsewhere in view of the severe drought in the state. The order came despite an assurance by the Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) that IPL franchises of Mumbai and Pune had agreed to contribute Rs 5 crore to the chief minister’s drought relief fund. Additionally, the BCCI on Tuesday had assured the Bombay High Court that untreated sewage water would be used to maintain pitches for the seventeen IPL matches to be played in Mumbai and Pune. Despite all arguments set in front of the court by the   BCCI , the court said: “We agree that merely shifting of IPL matches out of the state will not be a solution but this can be a beginning to address the drought situation in Maharashtra.
