Tech giant's India unit is developing blockchain-based solutions for global oil & gas majors Companies News  :  Global IT services giant Accenture will soon see the roll-out of its blockchain solutions by two oil and gas majors in Asia-Pacific and North American regions, and most part of the implementation is being done by the company’s advanced technology centre in India. Though blockchain has grabbed a lot of attention globally as a transformational technology post its use in crypto currencies, the large-scale implementation by enterprises is still a far cry. The company had already piloted the solution in these companies, which would soon see enterprise-level implementation. “After a year of discussion and co-innovation with one of our oil and gas clients, proof of concept and solutions have been signed up. From today, Reliance Jio's 'Monsoon Hungama' to offer Rs 501 JioPhone

Earlier, in the annual general meeting of Reliance Industries, Ambani had announced that the scheme will begin from July 21. The offer will begin at 5.01 PM on Friday, the timing that reflects the Rs 501 price tag of the JioPhone. The registration for new JioPhone is already live on the official website of Relaince Jio. "Jio will start monsoon hungama scheme from 5.01 pm on July 20. Even the timing has been kept to reflect effective price of the phone," the source told PTI. Veteran performer  Rita Bhaduri  , who worked widely in movies and network shows, including the progressing "Nimki Mukhiya", kicked the bucket here on Tuesday, said a source from the doctor's facility where she was conceded for over seven days. Rita was at the Sujay Hospital in Vile Parle. She was battling a feeble kidney and was on dialysis. "She passed on at around 1.30 a.m. what's more, her relatives took her body from the healing facility at around 4 a.m.," the source told IANS. An official response from the US is still awaited. However, in the past few weeks, Washington is said to have indicated to New Delhi that the Trump administration is favourably considering the invite, the daily reported. The invite was sent in April and followed up by several rounds of diplomatic engagement. The invitation by the Narendra Modi government comes amid difference with the US over trade tariffs and the latter's sanctions on Iran. CM Adityanath announces plastic ban in Uttar Pradesh from July 15

"We have issued an order to ban the use of  plastic ban  across the state from July 15," Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was quoted as saying by ANI. Flipkart is looking at adding content to its portal Major e-commerce and retail players, including Paytm, Future Group and Flipkart, are set to invest close to $100 million in procuring and incorporating entertainment content, in a bid to take on  Amazon  India. According to sources, Paytm, which recently announced a host of new features in ‘Inbox’, its in-app messaging service, including live TV, news, cricket, entertainment videos and games, is planning to invest close to $30 million in this sector. Kishore Biyani-led Future Group is planning to make significant investments in creating a separate entertainment vertical on the company’s various apps and has set aside close to $14.5 billion for on-boarding artificial intelligence and machine learning on its platform to support entertainment content. Andheri foot overbridge collapse: 5 injured; train services hit in Mumbai

An official said that it seems that incessant rain caused cracks in the FOB, which later resulted in the collapse A section of a foot overbridge in Mumbai caved in over the Western Railway (WR) tracks during Tuesday morning's peak hours following incessant rain, leaving five persons injured, and creating a scare among the commuters, an official said. The crash has affected Mumbai's lifeline -- the suburban train services, which ferries around eight million commuters daily. The injured, who include one woman, have been admitted to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's R N Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle, a BMC official said. One of them is critical. Hyderabad: Plastic bottle crushers installed at select railway stations

In a bid to protect the environment, South Central Railways has installed machines for crushing and recycling plastic bottles at select stations in Hyderabad. The installations have been made at Kachiguda, Secunderabad and Nizamabad stations along with Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. These crusher machines are of the size of a refrigerator and have the capacity to crush around 5000 bottles per day. The crushed bottles come out as fine plastic pieces, ready to be sold as scrap in the market or to be reused to make bags and T-shirts. "The aim to install these machines is to protect the environment. If any passenger wants to throw the plastic water bottle they can put into this machine, which will crush the water bottle," Chief Public Relations Officer of South Central Railways, Uma Shankar told ANI.
