Rohith Vemula suicide: Fresh protests rocks campus, Yechury to visit

Fresh protests today rocked the Hyderabad Central University over the alleged suicide of Dalit student, Rohith Vemula, even as several politicians headed to the city including YSR Congress leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury.

A group of students carrying placards and raising slogans protested in the tense University campus this morning.

Besides Hyderabad many cities across the country including in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Chennai were rocked by protests yesterday.
Reddy and Yechury are scheduled to meet the protesting students of the University today.  Read Articles

Amazon now has customers in 100% serviceable pin-codes in India: Jeff Bezos

If things fall in place, then a deal with a major offline retailer might happen by the end of this year, according to a source Amazon might be the most visited shopping site in India, but for Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of the technology giant, it is still Day 1 in what may be the second-most important market for the firm outside the US. Bezos, in a letter to customers, said that Amazon now has customers in 100 per cent serviceable pin-codes in the country and is shipping packages from more than 50 fulfillment locations in 13 states. Duties on life saving drugs hiked

The government on Friday raised import duty on life saving and bulk drugs used to treat cancer, rabies, Parkinson’s disease among others to help domestic players.
